Lettrain privacy policy

This policy explains what data is used when you play Lettrain (Android and iOS app, identifier com.ledit.lettrain), why, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The data controller is Mohamed Essid, who publishes apps under the name LED IT.

2. Data stored only on your phone

Lettrain saves the following on your phone:

  • your settings;
  • your progress and high scores;
  • your stock of jokers;
  • your Premium status, if you bought Lettrain Premium.

None of this is sent to LED IT. This data stays on your phone until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Depending on your phone’s settings, it may be included in its automatic backup (Google or iCloud), which is managed by Google or Apple.

3. No account

Lettrain has no user accounts: the app never asks for your name, email address or password.

If you email us, we use your address and your message only to reply to you, and keep them only as long as needed to handle your request.

4. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes, it sends a report to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service. The report contains technical data: device model, operating system and app version, crash trace and installation identifier. It does not contain your name or email address.

  • Purpose: fixing bugs and improving the game’s stability.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing an app that works (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may object to it (see Your rights).
  • Retention: 90 days.

5. Advertising (free version)

The free version of Lettrain shows ads through AppLovin MAX (AppLovin Corporation), an ad platform that runs an auction between several ad networks, including Google AdMob, to choose which ad is shown. The Premium version shows no ads.

Data used

  • the device’s advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID; IDFA on iOS);
  • your IP address;
  • information about the device and the app (model, operating system, language, app version);
  • your interactions with ads (impressions, clicks).

Purposes

Showing ads, capping how often they are shown, measuring their performance and preventing fraud.

Your consent

  • In the European Union and the United Kingdom, a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) is shown on first launch. Without your agreement, only non-personalised ads are shown.
  • On iOS, the app also asks for Apple’s tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, the IDFA is not used.
  • Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for personalised advertising; our legitimate interest in funding the free version (Article 6(1)(f)) for non-personalised ads.

You can change your choice at any time in the app: Settings › Privacy › Manage ad consent. Withdrawing your consent does not affect what was done before.

Retention: advertising data is kept by AppLovin and by each partner network according to their own policies.

Networks AppLovin MAX may use to show ads in Lettrain:

  • AppLovin (AppLovin Corporation)
  • Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited)

6. In-app purchases

Lettrain offers in-app purchases (Lettrain Premium, joker packs). They are processed entirely by Google Play, and by the App Store on iOS, under their own terms and privacy policies. LED IT neither receives nor stores any payment data: the app only receives confirmation that a purchase took place, in order to unlock the corresponding content.

7. Transfers outside the European Union

Google and AppLovin may process the data described above outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. These transfers are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission or by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. LED IT does not sell your data.

8. Children

Lettrain is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data about them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with data, please write to us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights over your data:

  • access;
  • rectification;
  • erasure;
  • objection, in particular to crash reports;
  • withdrawal of consent to personalised ads, at any time (see section 5).

How to exercise them: write to messid.ledit@gmail.com. We reply within one month. Because Lettrain works without an account, LED IT holds no data that directly identifies you: please tell us your phone model to help us.

Advertising data: you can also reset or delete the advertising identifier in your phone’s settings (Android: Settings › Google › Ads; iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking), or contact AppLovin or Google directly.

Complaints: if you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL): www.cnil.fr/fr/plaintes, or with the data protection authority of your country.

10. Changes

We may update this policy, for example if the app changes or a partner ad network is added. If there is a significant change, we will let you know in the app.
